  1. "SHERLOCK: Semantic Management of Location-Based Services in Wireless Environments"
    Fecha defensa: 2016-03-15
Estudiante: Roberto Yus. Director Eduardo Mena.
Objetivo: Nowadays people are exposed to huge amounts of information that are generated continuously. However, current mobile applications, Web pages, and Location-Based Services (LBSs) are designed for specific scenarios and goals. We propose the system SHERLOCK, which searches and shares up-to-date knowledge from nearby devices to relieve the user from knowing and managing such knowledge directly. Besides, the system guides the user in the process of selecting the service that best fits his/her needs in the given context. http://sid.cps.unizar.es/SHERLOCK/

  2. "Ontology Localization"
    Fecha defensa: 2014-06-09
Estudiante: Mauricio Espinoza Mejía. Director Eduardo Mena, codirigido por Asunción Gómez Pérez (UPM).
Objetivo: Our main goal in this thesis is to propose a solution to build a multilingual ontology through automatic localization of an ontology. Our work introduces a novel approach for the multilingualism problem, describing the methods, techniques, and tools for the localization of ontological resources and how multilingualism could be represented in ontologies.

  3. "Semantic Keyword-based Search on Heterogeneous Information Systems"
    Fecha defensa: 2013-12-05
Estudiante: Carlos Bobed. Director Eduardo Mena.
Objetivo: To access data semantically taking as input plain keywords. The system uses the discovery and disambiguation techniques developed by the group, and performs a keyword interpretation that is guided by the semantics of the target query model to finally access to underlying relevant data. http://sid.cps.unizar.es/~nodel/QueryGen

  4. "Semantic Techniques for Improving Keyword-based Searching"
    Fecha defensa: 2012-05-11
Estudiante: Raquel Trillo Lado. Director Eduardo Mena.
    Objetivo: por concretar

  5. "Integration and Disambiguation Techniques for Semantic Heterogeneity Reduction on the Web"
    Fecha defensa: 2009-10-16
Estudiante: Jorge Gracia del Río. Director Eduardo Mena.
    Objetivo: por concretar

  6. "Agentes Móviles Inteligentes Aplicados al Diseño y Desarrollo de Servicios de Datos en Entornos Inalámbricos y Distribuidos"
    Fecha defensa: 2009-05-29
Estudiante: José Alberto Royo. Director Eduardo Mena.

  7. "LOQOMOTION: Processing of Continuous Location-Dependent Queries in Mobile Environments"
    Fecha defensa: 2006-05-15
Estudiante: Sergio Ilarri. Director Eduardo Mena.
Objetivo: Mobile computing introduces new challenges for data management. Our main concern is to develop a data service whose goal is the processing of location-dependent queries, i.e., queries for which the answer depends on location of objects. We deal with contexts where not only the user issuing the query can change her/his position, but the objects involved in the query can move as well. Examples of location-dependent queries are: "show me the nearest free taxi cabs". In addition, queries can depend on direction of movement. Continuous queries introduce new problems in the query processing because the movement of any involved object could change the query answer. Moreover, a continuous query cannot be considered as a sequence of instantaneous queries that are re-sent continuously to the data server. This would lead to a low performance, wireless bandwidth overhead, and the computer issuing the query may disconnect. Besides, delays involved in communication must be considered since they may make an answer outdated. So it is necessary an approach to assure updated data but optimizing communications. http://sid.cps.unizar.es/ANTARCTICA/LOQOMOTION
