§1.42 Class RuntimeException

public  class  java.lang.RuntimeException
    extends  java.lang.Exception  (I-§1.30)
{

}

RuntimeException is the superclass of those exceptions which can be thrown during the normal operation of the Java Virtual Machine.

A method is not required to declare in its throws clause any subclasses of RuntimeException that might be thrown during the execution of the method but not caught.

RuntimeException

public RuntimeException()

Constructs a RuntimeException with no detail message.

RuntimeException

public RuntimeException(String  s)

Constructs a RuntimeException with the specified detail message.

Parameters:: s -the detail message
